MOTOR VEHICLE

In the event you are involved in a motor vehicular accident, or your vehicle has been stolen or broken into, the following are some of the steps you should take:

  1. Immediately report the accident or theft to the police
  2. Note the names, addresses and contact numbers of witnesses as well as the other person(s) involved in the accident {both owner(s) and driver(s)}. Please also note the registration number(s) of the vehicle(s).
  3. It is important to record the name, badge number, contact numbers and police station of investigating
  4. Record the measurements taken by the police
  5. If possible, take photographs of the scene of the accident, specifically the location of the vehicles and the damage
  6. As soon as possible, report the accident to us at any one of our locations and complete the requisite Claim Form. Please ensure that all questions on the Claim Form are completely answered and that the form is signed and
  7. Obtain an estimate of repairs from the garage you intend to use of carry out your
  8. Upon submission of your claim form we will carry out our investigation and process your claim in the quickest possible time. This process may involve getting a second opinion. Some claims may require further investigation or the appointment of a Loss
  9. Insured will be required to pay the applicable policy excess as well as any outstanding premium prior to the settlement of their
  10. Further guidance will be given as and when

 

HOMEOWNMERS / FIRE & PERILS EXCLUDING BURGLARY

If an insured loss occurs, here are some steps you should take:

  1. Immediately notify us that you have discovered the
  2. Report the incident to the police or fire service as
  3. If a crime has been committed (such as burglary or theft), do not tamper with any potential evidence until after the police have had a chance to assess the
  4. Take steps to secure your property to protect from further loss or
  5. Prepare a detailed list of all items lost or
  6. Answer all questions on the requisite Claim Form and give a detailed statement explaining how the loss
  7. Submit estimates as requested on the claim

 

BURGLARY

If an insured loss occurs, please answer ALL QUESTIONS on the Burglary Claim Form, following the instructions below:

  1. Provide a full list of the article stolen or damaged, including the following:
    1. Cost Price, due allowance having been made for trade discounts;
    2. Date of purchase;
    3. Value at the time of the loss or damage AFTER MAKING ALLOWANCE FOR WEAR AND TEAR;
    4. Value (if any) after the occurrence i.e. Value of salvage;

 

ALL RISKS

If an insured loss occurs, please answer ALL QUESTIONS on the All Risks Claim Form, following the instructions below:

  1. Provide a full list of the article stolen or damaged, including the following:
    1. Cost Price, due allowance having been made for trade discounts;
    2. Date of purchase;
    3. Value at the time of the loss or damage AFTER MAKING ALLOWANCE FOR WEAR AND TEAR;
    4. Value (if any) after the occurrence i.e. Value of salvage;

 

MONEY

If an insured loss occurs, please answer ALL QUESTIONS on the Money Insurance Claim Form. Provide all documentary evidence in support of your loss.

 

CATASTROPHE

In the event of a catastrophe, take steps to secure your property so as to prevent additional loss or damage. Complete the Catastrophe Claim Form (Questions 1 – 5 only). Submit your estimate of repairs. Please note that a Loss Adjuster may be appointed.

 

MARINE CARGO

In the event of a Marine Cargo Claim, please answer ALL QUESTIONS on the Marine Cargo Claim Form, and adhere the following procedures:

PROCEDURE IN THE EVENT OF LOSS OR DAMAGE FOR WHICH UNDERWRITERS MAY BE LIABLE. LIABILITY OF CARRIERS, BAILEES OR OTHER THIRD PARTIES

It is the duty of the Assured and the Assured’s Agents, in all cases, to take such measures as may be reasonable for the purpose of averting or minimizing a loss and to ensure that all rights against Carriers, Bailees or other Third Parties are properly preserved and exercised.                                                                                                                                  In

particular, the Assured and the Assured’s Agents are required:-

  • To claim immediately on the Carriers, Port Authorities or other Baliees for any missing packages.
  • To apply immediately for a survey by the Carriers’ or other Bailees’ Representatives if any loss or damage is apparent and claim on the Carriers or other Bailees for any actual loss or damage found at such
  • Not in any circumstances, except under written protest, to give clean receipts where goods are in doubtful
  • To give notice in writing to the Carriers or other Bailees within 3 days of delivery if the loss or damage was not apparent at the time of taking

TRAVEL CLAIM

Please note the below information is the minimum amount of information we may need to finalise a claim. Please when submitting claim tick appropriate boxes to confirm this information is provided with the claim form.

Medical Expenses Claims

  • Full concise details of the circumstances surrounding the
  • Travel insurance certificate
  • All original Hospital, Doctor, Chemist, Dentist receipts for amounts claimed
  • Full concise details of the amount the person wishes to
  • Travel itinerary to support dates of trip
  • Report of Treating Doctor
  • Completed Claim Form

Personal Property/Money Claims/ Delay or loss of Baggage

  • Full concise details of the circumstances surrounding the
  • Travel insurance certificate
  • All original receipts for amounts claimed where available. Other evidence of ownership acceptable if receipts are not
  • Full concise details of the amount the person wishes to claim includes original dates of purchase etc.
  • Police, Airline or Tour Operator report confirming the loss/theft/delay
  • Travel itinerary to support dates of trip

Cancellation/Curtailment Claims

  • Full concise details of the circumstances surrounding the
  • Travel insurance certificate
  • Full concise details of the amount the person wishes to
  • Supporting Booking/Cancellation invoices to supp
  • Travel itinerary to support dates of trip
